Satellite Communication

With built-in satellite communication, inReach technology and additional service options, the GPSMAP 86i helps you stay connected globally. You can receive and send two-way text messages, track and share your route, and if the need arises activate the SOS function to receive 24/7 assistance through the international control center of the Iridium satellite network. In addition, you can view the weather forecast directly on your device so you can make decisions about your route based on the conditions at your destination.

Connects to your Ship

Connect the GPSMAP 86i to a compatible Garmin chartplotter or multi-instrument so you can see real-time boat data on your device screen. In addition, it can also be used as a remote control for easy remote adjustments with the Garmin autopilot and other selected FUSION products. When you're on the move, the adjustable GPS filter smooths the speed and direction readings for greater accuracy.

Optional BlueChart g3 Maps

The GPSMAP 86i has a preloaded global base map. You can add advanced BlueChart g3 nautical charts for ultimate coverage and detail thanks to Garmin and Navionics data. Detailed contours with accurate descriptions of the bottom structure for an enhanced fishing experience and more detail in channels and harbors.

Stay in contact

Receive smart notifications directly on the GPSMAP 86i when you connect it to a compatible smartphone. Plus, you can connect it to the Garmin Explore website for cloud management of your favorite waypoints, routes and roads. The GPSMAP 86i features Wi-Fi, ANT+ and BLUETOOTH wireless technology for easy wireless upgrades and connections. The integrated, rechargeable lithium battery provides up to 40 hours of autonomy in standard mode and up to 200 hours in expedition mode.
